Leading artists of America are participating in the twentieth anniversary celebration of the Bezalel School of Arts and Crafts, by presenting to the school museum examples of their work. Art colectors are also contributing valuable paintings from their private collections.

Paintings and sculptures have already been received from Maurice Stern, Jo Davidson, Abraham Wolkowitz, Leo Meltziner, Maxa Nordau, Mrs. Stephen S. Wise, A. S. Baylinson, Eva Bernstein, Bernar Gussow, Saul Raskin, Reuben Lifshitz, Hirsch Margolies, Adolph Gottlieb and Miss Hermine E. Kleinert.

A reception will be tendered by the committee in charge of the Bezalel Exhibition to the artists and their paintings and sculptures will be placed on exhibition on the same floor as the Bezalel Exhibition. Among these paintings will be one by Maxa Nordau of her father, and of Israel Zangwill by Leo Meltziner.

Tuesday night of this week will be known as Dr. Shmarya Levin night. Dr. Levin will be present and will address the visitors. Another evening this week will be known as Bialik night, the Hebrew poet having announced his intention to be present.

Among the objects on exhibition, the Ark of the Law has attracted the greatest interest. This Ark was made by the students of the Bezalel after a design made by Beban, a member of the faculty of the school, and represents ten forms of handicrafts, the body of the Ark being made of beaten brass and ornamented with carved ivory, semi-precious stones, old Byzantine cloissone, etc.

The great chair of Elijah the Prophet is also greatly admired.

The exhibition has been visited by many leading Jews and Christians in New York, including Dr. and Mrs. Stephen S. Wise, Judge Irving Lehman, Nathan Straus, Jr., Hon. Frank P. Walsh, Rabbi Meyer Berlin, Dr. and Mrs. David de Sola Pool, Dr. Abraham Walkowitz, the artist George S. Hellman, and others.

Among the objects on exhibition are paintings, sculptures, rugs, carvings in ivory and wood, cameos, applique work, bronze reliefs, large and small, plaques, etc. There is an interesting bas-relief of the late Dr. Isaac M. Wise, founder of the Hebrew Union College, of the distinguished scholar Prof. Gotthard Deutsch, of the Hebrew poet Naftali Hertz Imber, the composer of Hatikvah, of Prof. Herman Shapiro, founder of the Jewish National Fund, of Captain Trumpledor, hero of Tel Hai, of Professor Otto Warburg, of E. M. Lilien, Hertzenberg and Antokolski, the distinguished artists, and of many interesting types of Jews to be found in Palestine among the Sephardim, Yemenites and Ashkenazim.

The committee in charge of the exhibition is headed by Nathan Straus as honorary chairman, James N. Rosenberg, chairman; Charles A. Cowan, secretary and Louis Topkis, treasurer.
