Two Israel Bond delegations from the United States continued their tours of Israel today, conferring with many of the leading government, financial and military leaders of the country, as well as famous non-government personalities.
Yesterday, one group visited ex-Premier David Ben Gurion at Sdeh Boker. Other members of the delegations were taken on a tour of Israel Army defense installations and were given a reception by Defense Minister Pinhas Lavon and Army Chief of Staff Major General Moshe Dayan. A group of the Americans met with United States Charge d’Affaires Francis Russel and Dr. J. Herzog, head of the American desk at the Israeli Foreign Ministry.
Among other activities by the Americans were inspections of the Jordan River water diversion project; a tour of the Arab city of Nazareth and of the Emek region; visits to the Weizmann Institute of Science at Rehovoth and to various industrial establishments; and a dinner attended by various Israeli industrialists, financiers, members of Parliament, and David Horowitz, governor of the State Bank.
