Three contractors — British, French and American — have submitted bids, offering to complete the Dead Sea dikes in accordance with the original specifications which the Kaiser Engineering Company of the United States, has declared “unworkable, ” it was announced at Sdom today by Maj. Gen. Mordechai Makleff, general manager of the Dead Sea Works.
The Kaiser firm notified the Dead Sea Works several weeks ago that it cannot complete the job, due to the specifications laid down by the Dead Sea Works. Makleff said that no decision has as yet been made by his firm regarding the new bids.
