The American Cancer Society lauded today an anti-smoking educational campaign launched by the Israel Cancer Association aimed at reducing the number of deaths among Israelis from lung cancer and other diseases. The American group praised particularly the posters issued by the Israeli organization which have been prominently displayed in public buildings and buses, and stamps to be affixed to envelopes.
“The poster and stamp, ” the American Cancer Society said, “constitute an enterprising means of drawing attention to the health hazards involved in cigarette smoking. We consider this of vital importance to all people and we hope the efforts of the Israel organization are successful.”
