The American Civil Liberties Union is opposed to passage of the Lynch Bill, which would ban from the mails false and defamatory racial and religious statements, it was stated today by Morris Ernst testifying before the House Post Office Committee.

Ernst declared that the ACLU felt that it would be difficult to pin down this type of material and also believed that the bill would encroach on the basic rights of the American people to speak their mind.
