A delegation representing the Alpha Omega dental fraternity of the United States as well as the World Federation for the Israel Dental School, arrived today in Israel to carry out enlargement of the school. The delegation, headed by Federation president Professor Bruno Schrotter and treasurer Professor Henry M. Seldin, who is also president-elect of the American Society of Oral Surgeons, met with Israel Minister of Health Joseph Serlin who promised the Government’s assistance for the Dental School.
Alpha Omega plans to enlarge the school and increase the number of students next semester. It will embark on a drive in the U.S. for $300,000 for that purpose. The delegation, which also includes Professor Leonard Manheim, and Drs. Harold Subrov, Emanuel Masliansky and Jonas Silverstone, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency of Israel’s acute need for young dentists and the urgent necessity to enlarge the school.
