A $2,400,000 budget for 1949 vas adopted here today by the American Fund for Palestinian Institutions. The sum includes allocations for 85 beneficiary organizations previously aided by the Fund and 20 new groups which will be included in this year’s appropriations. The goal for 1949 is double that of last year’s.
The new goal was approved at a week-end meeting of the organization’s Budget Advisory Board, attended by Fund leaders from the Greater New York area. Among the new beneficiaries of the Fund this year are the Israel Maritime League, the Council of Aviation in Israel, the Milk for School Children Project, the Wingate Physical Education College, the Society for Orphanages and the American Advisory Committee on Mental Hygiene in Israel.
