The eight major Zionist groups in this country were invited today to participate in the first American Zionist Assembly, which will seek “to establish a broader base of fraternal and cooperative relations” with the American Zionist movement, and to lay the groundwork for more effective Zionist activities in the United States “without impairing the autonomy of participating groups.”
The invitation, addressed to the president of each group, was issued by Louis Lipsky, chairman of the American Zionist Council, which represents all Zionist organizations in this country. The Assembly will be held on December 5-7 at the Hotel Roosevelt, here, Mr. Lipsky announced.
