The Joint Distribution Committee and its affiliated American Joint Reconstruction Foundation last year spent $1, 182,000 for reconstructive aid for the Jews of Poland. Joseph C. Hyman, secretary and executive director of the J.D.C., announced today, declaring that far greater sums would be needed this year.
In addition, the J.D.C. administered the distribution of funds collected by the United Polish Appeal of Great Britain amounting to over £50,000 ($250,000) in accordance with a program determined by the British Jews in consultation with the J.D.C. representative.
