U.S. High Commissioner John J. McCloy this week-end sent a message of congratulations to the Jewish communities in the American zone of Germany on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of their liberation from Nazi hands.
“The rebirth of normal Jewish life in Germany constitutes the best sign of the return of the German nation to the tradition of the western democracies,” the High Commissioner said. A similar message of congratulations was sent to the Jewish communities by Karl Arnold, President of the German Bundesrat.
