A gift of $200,000 to the Hebrew University was announced here today by Charles Charcowsky, American industrialist and philanthropist. The gift to the University, to provide a science center, will come from the Charles Charcowsky Foundation, also announced today.
Mr. Charcowsky, who is active in the United Jewish Appeal and other Jewish projects in this country and Israel, said that he was impressed by the “research work being conducted at this great school of science and the humanities.” Mr. Charcowsky came to the United States 53 years ago, an all but penniless immigrant boy.
