A summer home for Jewish children in Riga will be purchased owing to the generosity of Mr. Joseph Schonthal of Columbus, Ohio, who has made a gift of $3,000. to the Jewish community of Riga, for that purposes.
The gift was made through Mr. H. Joseph Hyman, Executive Director of the Associated Jewish Charities of Baltimore, who, during the period of 1921 to 1923 was the Director of the Joint Distribution Committee in Latvia. The home is to be known as the “Hermine Schonthal Home” and is to be situated on the Riga seashore.
