Marcel Franco, chairman of the committee on Near Eastern affairs of the American Jewish Committee, sailed this week-end for Europe on a mission for the A.J.C. in connection with the problem of the safety and welfare of Jews living in Moslem countries.
Franco will confer in Paris with various Jewish organizations in Europe on the situation of Jewry in the Near East and North Africa. A member of the central committee of the Alliance Israelite Universells, an organization of French Jews, Franco is also vice-president of the American Friends of the Alliance in the United States.
