An American Jewish Committee delegation consisting of Irving Engel, president; Jacob Blaustein, honorary president; and John Slawson, executive vice president, has arrived in Tunis. Accompanied by the Committee’s European director, Zachariah Schuster, the group is to meet with French and Tunisian authorities to discuss the current status of Tunisian Jewry. The delegation will go on to Morocco, with a stop en route at Algeria.
