American Jewish Congress Opens 1961 Drive; $1,051,000 Budget Announced

The 1964 campaign of the American Jewish Congress opened tonight at a dinner honoring Theodore Bikel, actor and singer. Robert Wechsler. campaign chairman who presided, announced the organization’s 1964 operating budget had been set at $1,051,000.

Dr. Joachim Prinz, president of the Congress, cited Mr. Bikel’s “outstanding contributions to the advancement of Jewish cultural life and the strengthening of human rights for all Americans.”
