A delegation of American newspapermen of the English-Jewish press will go to Israel the latter part of May for the 24th annual convention of the American Jewish Press Association, it was announced today by Adolph Rosenberg, of The Southern Israelite in Atlanta, president of the association. Plans for the AJPA convention were announced also in Israel by the Israeli Government.
“This will be a historic occasion for American Jewish newspapers, an opportunity for some to visit Israel for the first time, a chance for all to sit down with Israeli officials on their own ground and examine the problems of the day and their designs for the future,” Mr. Rosenberg said in his announcement.
Prime Minister Levi Eshkol is slated to address the opening session on May 26. Other scheduled speakers include Foreign Minister Abba Eban, Finance Minister Pinhas Sapir, Aryeh L. Pincus, chairman of the executive of the Jewish Agency and Dr. Israel Goldstein, president of Keren Hayesod.
