Fifty years of publishing will be observed by The American Jewish World, Northwest news-magazine, with its Golden Anniversary edition tomorrow. The anniversary number is part of the annual Rosh Hashanah edition.
Founded in June 1912, as The Jewish Weekly, the publication’s name was changed to The American Jewish World in 1915. L. H. Frisch, vice-president of the American Jewish Press Association, is editor and publisher of the Twin Cities-based weekly. A graduate of the University of Minnesota, he has been associated with the publication throughout its 50-year history.
Among the many personal greetings are congratulatory messages from President John F. Kennedy, Governor Elmer L. Andersen, Senator Hubert E. Humphrey, Senator Eugene J. McCarthy; University of Minnesota president O. Meredith Wilson; John Cowles, president of The Minneapolis Star and Tribune; Bernard E. Ridder, president of The St. Paul Dispatch and Pioneer Press; the Minnesota Rabbinical Association and other national and local figures in educational, political, civic and industrial circles.
