American Jewry was highly praised today for its contribution to the reconstruction of Jewish life in Hungary at a celebration marking the third anniversary of J.D.C. activities in this country. It was revealed by speakers at the gathering that the J.D.C. spent $15,000,000 during one year in helping the Jews return to a normal life. Dr. Joseph Schwartz, European director of the J.D.C., assured the gathering that the Jews of the United States will continue to take a deep interest in the fate of Hungarian Jewry, one of the largest Jewish communities in Europe.
