American Jews must look to their own inner resources for the development in this country of an indigenous culture in a blending of highest Jewish values and the best in American life, Michael Stavitsky, president of the American Association for Jewish Education, declared this week-end at the 36th annual meeting of the New York Metropolitan Section of the National Jewish Welfare Board. Mr. Stavitsky saw in the establishment of the state of Israel the possibility of a process of cultural “give and take” between the largest Jewish group in the world and Israel.
