American law-enforcement officials are concerned that Israeli citizens suspected of crimes will flee to Israel to escape prosecution. The fears were expressed after three Israelis suspected of laundering $44 million for a Colombian cocaine cartel fled trial in Florida by hopping a flight to Israel, which bars the extradition of its citizens. A similar situation took place last year, when a Maryland teen accused of murder, Samuel Sheinbein, fled to Israel, where he is now fighting his extradition.
