The American League for a Free Palestine has rejected “in its entirety” the report of the Anglo-American inquiry committee, it was revealed today by former Senator Guy M. Gillette, president of the organization.
In its reply to the State Department’s invitation to comment on the inquiry body’s findings, the League said that the circumstances which led to the initiation of the committee, the conditions under which it conducted its investigations, and the developments that followed the release of its report “all militate against serious acceptance of its recommendations as a basis for implementation.” The League also said that the only constructive program offered to settle the future of the Jews and the Palestine question was presented by the Hebrew Committee of National Liberation.
