The American members and deputy members of the Council of the Jewish Agency for Palestine have formed themselves into an organisation, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency is informed.
The newly formed body will further the programme of the Jewish Agency in Palestine, will disseminate information in regard to Palestine upbuilding and will take responsibility for raising the American share of the budget required to maintain the Jewish reconstructive activities in Palestine.
The officers elected to head the new organisation are: Mr. Felix M. Warburg and Judge Julian W. Mack, Honorary Chairmen; Dr. Cyrus Adler and Dr. Stephen S. Wise, Co-Chairmen; Judge Horace Stern and Mr. Robert Szold, Vice-Chairman.
Mr. Morris Rothenberg has been elected Chairman of the Administrative Committee, which in addition to the officers as ex-officio members consists of the following persons: Mr. James Becker, Mr. Meyer Brown, Rabbi Wolf Gold, Mrs. Rose G. Jacobs, Mr. Albert H. Lieberman, Mr. Louis Lipsky, Dr. Solomon Lowenstein, Dr. Samuel Schulman, Mr. Abraham Tulin, and Mr. Hugh Grant Straus.
The Administrative Committee will administer the affairs of the new body between meetings of the general membership.
One of the primary functions of the Administrative Committee of the newly organised body will be to formulate and carry into effect a plan whereby the American membership in the Council of the Jewish Agency may include as wide a representation as possible of American Jewish life.
