Loon Gellman, newly-elected chairman of the world praesidium of the World Mizrachi Organization, will leave for Israel after the High Holidays to take up his new post, it was revealed here today. It is expected that the American Mizrachi, which Mr. Gellman also heads, will elect his successor within a fortnight.
In the first statement issued by Mr. Gellman since his return from Jerusalem where a world Mizrachi conference recently concluded, he declared that the religious Zionist movement would launch immediately large scale projects in religious, cultural financial and economic areas for the welfare of Israel and the Jewish people, including the establishment of a “world center of Jewish learning, scholarship and Torah” at the Mizrachi-maintained junior college at Pardes Hanne, Israel. The statement also spoke of plans for the convocation of a world conference of religious Jewry in Jerusalem next year.
