American officials instructed a group of retired U.S. generals visiting Israel that they should not participate in a tour of eastern Jerusalem and the Golan Heights because they are occupied territory, according to the Israeli daily Ha’aretz. The former generals, many of whom now work in think tanks, are visiting Israel as guests of the Jaffee Center for Strategic Studies at Tel Aviv University.
