The American ORT Federation has adopted a departmental budget of $49,000 for the second half of 1949, it was announced here today by Edward L. Sard, executive director.
The departmental budget covers the administrative expenses and overhead of the ORT’s offices in this country. The Joint Distribution Committee has made available $1,500,000 for the ORT overseas activities, Mr. Sard said. He also quoted a report by Alexander Dolowitz, chairmen of the federation’s finance committee, which pointed out that over the last 11 years the American ORT has used 94 percent of its funds for its overseas rehabilitative work and only six percent for overhead and administration in the U.S.
