Organized some years ago by the Judea Industrial Corporation, to promote trade between the two countries, the American-Palestine Chamber of Commerce was reorganized this week at a meeting held in the offices of the corporation, 303 Fourth Avenue. Louis Lipsky, executive chairman of the American Palestine Campaign and American member of the World Zionist Executive, presided.
On behalf of the former officers of the American-Palestine Chamber of Commerce and more particularly of Judge Jacob S. Strahl, its last president, Mr. Lipsky said that he was authorized to turn over to the reorganized body all the material accumulated in the course of years and expected to see a new body developed upon the foundations laid by Judge Jacob S. Strabi, Jacob Ish Kishor and their associates, that will encourage the increase of commerce between Palestine and the United States. There are now a large number of commercial enterprises in America which have common interests that can be developed through an association like the American-Palestine Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Lipsky declared.
An organization committee was elected to revise the articles of incorporation of the chamber and submit a report of its program to the next meeting of the organization.
S. Sharnapolsky, founder of the Palestine Health Resorts Company, delivered an address and pointed out the work that could be done in the United States to further tourist traffic to the health resorts in Palestine, which should be developed under proper management.
