The pro-Zionist declarations by the Democratic and Republican parties in the United States are welcomed today in a joint statement issued by Chief Rabbis Ben-Zion Usiel and Isaac Herzog as “the first response to our call from Mount Zion, in the name of the Holy Torah and the Prophets, for restoration of the land of Israel to the people of Israel, and its establishment as a Jewish State.”
The statement declares that the American declarations visibly mirror the influence of the Bible, “the source of life of the American Constitution,” and expresses the hope that other nations will soon follow suit, “above all the British people who hold the Bible so precious.”
