A special broadcast to the Soviet Union will mark Radio Liberation’s programming in connection with the observance of Chanukah, it was announced here today.
Featured on Radio Liberation’s half-hour program will be traditional Chanukah songs as rendered by cantor Moshe Koussevitzky, of Beth El Temple, Brooklyn. The renowned tenor, who for a time lived in the Soviet Union, has also taped a message of greetings to Soviet Jews in the Russian language. Cantor Koussevitzky, who will sing in Hebrew, had led the singing of the congregation of Moscow’s leading synagogue. He left the Soviet Union in 1946.
