American Section of World Jewish Congress Formed

Formal constitution of an American Section of the World Jewish Congress, with headquarters in New York and Washington, was authorized by a special meeting summoned by those members of the World Executive Committee who are in the United States and attended by the American members of the Administrative Committee, Dr. Stephen S. Wise announced today.

The American Section is to comprise the American members of the Administrative Committee, the European members of both the Administrative Committee and the Executive Committee who are now in the United States and who are expected to arrive in this country shortly. The Section will have as its purpose the reorientation of the World Congress program to meet present day conditions and future eventualities.

Fortnightly meeting of the Administrative Committee are to be held henceforth. The meeting voted to set up commissions on Pan-American problems, European Jewish affairs, Polish-Jewish relations and relief.
