The lives and works of three early Zionist pioneers were evaluated tonight in addresses by veteran Zionist leaders at the annual meeting here of the Brith Rishonim, a non-partisan association of Zionists who were members of a Zionist organization prior to 1930.
Morris Margulies, honorary secretary of Brith Rishonim, spoke on Professor Richard Gottheil, first president of the Zionist Organization of America in 1898, then called the Federation of American Zionists. Mrs. David de Sola Pool, former President of Hadassah, spoke on the late Henrietta Szold, founder of Hadassah, and Samuel Margoshes, member of the General Council of the World Zionist Organization, spoke on the late Professor Israel Friedlander, one of the first American Zionists. Louis Lipsky, dean of American Zionism, presided.
