Foreign languages and newspapers printed in foreign languages should be suppressed and American womanhood must be protected against foreigners, a Klan speaker, Dr. Sherman of New York, declared in an address before a large Klux rally in a Cleveland church.
The pastor of the church following the address, expressed regret that his English birth made him ineligible for membership in the Klan, but he stated he entirely acquiesced in their views and in the closing prayer invoked the blessing of God on “the Ku Klux Klan and its high ideals”.
