The United Labor Zionist Party of America and Canada today issued a statement sharply criticizing David Ben Gurion, chairman of the Jewish Agency executive, for his proposal that a Jewish state be established in a part of Palestine while the remainder of the country continue under the British Mandate.
Emphasizing that the proposal is contrary to the resolutions accepted by the last World Zionist Congress in Basel, the statement asks the Jewish Agency executive “to see to it that the public utterances of its members should not be in contradiction with the political line decided upon by the democratically elected bodies of the world Zionist movement.”
