Plans for a Zionist economic conference on Israel, in which Israel and American Government officials will participate, were made known today by Zionist leaders following a visit by Rabbi Irving Miller, president of the Zionist Organization of America, with Sinclair Weeks, Secretary of Commerce. The conference will be held at the Waldorf Astoria in New York on March 14 and 15.
Participants in the conference will include officials of the Commerce Department’s Office of International Trade, Point Four experts of the Technical Cooperation Administration, and representatives of the State Department, Israel Embassy, and the Jewish Agency. The theme of the conference, Rabbi Miller said, will be the role of private enterprise in Israel to consolidate the State in the face of Communist anti-Semitism. Dr. Peretz Bernstein, Israel’s new Minister of Trade and Industry, will attend.
