Adolph Lenchner, prominent Jewish business man of this city, was killed Tuesday evening at the close of business by ammonia fumes from the refrigerating plant in his store. Mr. Lenchner was trapped in the basement and died despite heroic attempts made to revive him at the hospital to which he was removed.
Mr. Lenchner was born in Russia and came to Utica about 20 years ago. He was prominent in the local Jewish community and in Jewish fraternal circles. He is survived by a wife and two children.
