An anti-Passover campaign, carried out each year by the Jewish Communist organization, and militant atheist groups, began today. A number of articles appeared in today’s Jewish press. Local party groups all over Russia were ordered to intensify their anti-religious work. At the same time all Jewish factory workers were instructed to report for work on Passover.
The anti-Passover campaign is a regular feature of the anti-religious work carried out by the Russian Communist party and by the Association of the Godless. The same campaign is carried out annually against the observance of Easter by the Christians. This year the Russian Jewish Communists are particularly incensed by the campaign carried on in other countries to provide matzoths for the Russian Jews. The Soviet press, particularly the Emes, organ of the Jewish Communists, claimed that this is part of the anti-Soviet campaign carried on by the rabbis abroad.
