Premier Bob Carr, the premier of the state of New South Wales, responded to a story in the Australian Jewish News in which a former member of the Sydney Peace Foundation alleged that the selection process for the $50,000 cash prize was flawed, and that insufficient background material on Ashrawi had been made available.
