An Austrian extremist apparently will run for a regional governorship in next spring’s elections. Jorg Haider, who resigned as governor of Carinthia in 1991 after making pro-Nazi statements, plans to use the post as a springboard for a campaign for Austrian chancellor in the national elections scheduled for 2003.
