An international conference to examine the critical problems engendered by UNESCO’s continued politicization and the alienation and boycott by a large segment of the international intellectual community following the November 1974 sanctions against Israel will be held at the Church Center for the United Nations May 2. The aim of the meeting. “Intellectuals and UNESCO–Directions for the Future,” will be to offer alternatives and recommendations for solving these problems. A group of 100 scholars in the performing arts, sciences and humanities, including former U.S. Ambassador Daniel P. Moynihan and a three-member delegation from Europe will participate in the conference sponsored by the Committee for an Effective UNESCO.
