An Islamic cleric called for a holy war to liberate Jerusalem during a sermon to pilgrims who had come to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, to visit Islam’s holiest site. “How can Muslims stand idle in front of this bunch of aggressors?” the cleric said at the Grand Mosque, to which an estimated 2.3 million Muslims made the annual pilgrimage, or hajj, this year.
