An Israeli Arab was named an acting Supreme Court justice. Observers believe that if Salim Joubran’s trial period until the end of the year is successful, he will be appointed to a permanent post on the court. Joubran’s appointment fulfills a promise Yosef Lapid made when he became justice minister earlier this year.
