An Israeli court sentenced an Arab resident of eastern Jerusalem to 18 months in jail on charges of conspiring to kidnap Israeli soldiers and public figures, including Jerusalem Mayor Ehud Olmert and Tel Aviv Mayor Roni Milo. The court also said it would bring charges against another Arab who stands accused of involvement in a foundation that funnels moneys raised abroad to the families of Hamas suicide bombers and to relatives of Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences for attacks on Israelis.
