An Israeli lawmaker faces criminal investigation for trying to obtain a university degree by fraud. Yair Peretz of the Shas Party yielded his parliamentary immunity Monday after it surfaced that police secretly had recorded him bargaining for a bogus degree from Bar-Ilan University.
