An Israeli military court allowed details to be published regarding the arrest and trial of a suspected Hezbollah member charged with helping the Shi’ite organization carry out attacks during a 1996 campaign in Lebanon known as Operation Grapes of Wrath. Israeli media reported that Ahmed Banjak was detained in August 1996 and tried for aiding Hezbollah and undergoing weapons training at one of its camps. Banjak said that his confession was forged and he was taken to Israel against his will.
