An orchestra of Israeli and Arab music students was named best large ensemble at the Royal Philharmonic Society Awards in London. The East-West Divan Orchestra, founded by Jewish conductor Daniel Barenboim and the late Palestinian academic Edward Said, triumphed on Wednesday over better-known groups such as the Halle Ensemble.
