An umbrella Jewish group called for the use of “all means deemed necessary” by the U.S. and NATO in the Balkans, not excluding ground troops, to end ethnic cleansing, return refugees safely to their homes and restore stability in the region. In a statement released Thursday, the Jewish Council for Public Affairs also reaffirmed its support for U.S. and NATO military operations in Kosovo and Serbia. Meanwhile, Americans for a Safe Israel recently released a statement opposing the use of American ground troops in Kosovo.
