An urgent worldwide appeal was issued Tuesday by Chief Rabbis Isaac Halevi Herzog and Isaac Nissim for services and prayers for Israel because of “hostile machinations of certain forces.” The appeal urged “all free nations and men of faith and moral conscience everywhere to raise their voices and urge their leaders to stand by Israel’s struggle for peace and justice.”
