Buildings of an ancient city called Beth Yerbech, which was, apparently, a prosperous market town of Palestine about 2,500 years ago, have been uncovered on the south-western shore of the Sea of Galilee in northern Palestine, it is reported in Davar.
An expedition led by Dr. Benjamin Maisler and Dr. Moshe Stekolis of the Hebrew University has been excavating on the site since last winter, with funds supplied by the Histadruth and the Jewish National Fund.
