— Anda Amir-Pinkerfeld, poet and writer of children’s poems and stories on which two generations of children have grown up, died last Friday at the age of 79. She was born in Poland in 1902 and came to Israel in 1920, returning to Europe and then coming back to Israel in 1930. At the end of World War II she returned to Europe to work with children who had survived the Holocaust. She was awarded the Israel Prize for literature in 1978 for her 50-year contribution to Israeli culture.
