An Anglican Bishop’s suggestion that the governments concerned sacrifice Jewish hostages in order to free their own nationals held by Arab terrorists in the Jordanian desert was denounced by former Labor Cabinet Minister Richard H.S. Crossman Friday. Mr. Crossman, appearing on a BBC panel discussion with former Conservative Minister Duncan Sandys. referred to a suggestion advanced by Bishop Trevor Huddleston whose Stepney diocese includes the predominantly Jewish district of Whitechapel. Mr. Crossman said it was incredible that a Bishop of the Church of England should advocate such a proposition. Both he and Mr. Sandys agreed that Israel would be justified in entering Jordan if the chaos there continued and the Hussein government was unable to control the country.
