The situation in the Middle East is expected to be extensively discussed here in the coming two days at the Council of Ministers of the Central Treaty Organization, with the participation of foreign ministers of the CENTO powers–Turkey, Iran, Pakistan and Britain, and the American Secretary of State, Dean Rusk.
A direct Anglo-American discussion on the Middle East is believed to have taken place today in a meeting between Mr. Rusk and the British Foreign Secretary, R.A. Butler. The British are primarily concerned with the Egyptian-inspired attacks against Aden and the British-protected South Arabian Federation. But the Israel-Arab dispute is also expected to be taken up in the discussions.
